DIVISION-ONE RESULTS

BARON—6-4--TYLERS REST
DOING JUST ENOUGH ONCE AGAIN

The TYLERS REST team is the first team to be top of the division-one league table other than the BARON team since the FOXES back in January 2016 and the league leaders took the lead when WILL COOKE beat Perry Chance but the champions captain JASON BATES beat Ryan Stevens to level and then OLLIE ALESSANDRO put the away side back in front by beating the number one rank player in our league Tony Sullivan but the match was all level once again when FRANKIE CHARD beat the away sides captain Ian Adey and then the division-one singles champion DAVE SHAW put the champions into the lead by beating Ben Marriott.

So the champions just leading buy the one frame at the midway point. They usually go one now and win at least four of the next five frames.

WILL COOKE must have been on form last night as he won his second frame by beating Simon Bates to level the match at the start of the second half and even OLLIE ALESSANDRO had another good scalp by beating Ryan Knight. Now the league leaders are just a frame away from claiming a point and with three frames to be played and the form they are on you would have thought they would at least got one of them. The champions are in the same position as they were last week after seven frames had been played against the SUN team. Could they once again go on and win the final three frames. Their captain JASON BATES showed his team the way when he beat Andy Hilly to level the match at four frames apiece and then FRANKIE CHARD beat Ryan Stevens to put the champions into the lead and clime a point and to make the final frame interesting. Could the away side leave with a point? No was the answer as DAVE SHAW beat Ian Adey.

So strangely the same thing as last week for the champions. A little like a last-minute penalty for a champions side. when you think you got them beat and then they pull something out of the bag and take all three points. The SUN INN and the TYLERS REST must be gutted just like Leicester City lol. But that's what champions do.
They TYLERS REST team must feel gutted they went into this match top of the league and was only two frames away from claiming a famous win and maybe staying top. Unlucky lads

PREDICTION – 7-3 HOME WIN - WRONG

BELL & PLENTY OF BOTTLE—8-2--CURZON CLUB-B
GOING TOP OF THE TABLE

DAN DAVY put the home side in front when he beat Mark Duggan and then LUKE JOHNSON doubled their lead with a win over Jamie Orr. But the away side came back when CHRIS DOWNING beat David Hood and then the away sides captain COLIN SMART levelled the match up at two frames apiece when he beat Steve Hood. But the home side went straight back in front when DAN WALKER won the final frame of the first half by beating Mark Simmonds.

The home side leading by the odd frame at the midway stage but the second half will belong to just one team.

Just as he did in the first half DAN DAVY won the first frame in the second half by beating Mark Simmonds and then LUKE JOHNSON secures a point when he beat Colin Smart. And all three points was the home teams when DAVID HOOD made up for his first-half defeat by beating Mark Duggan and the wins just kept coming for the home side when their captain LEIGH MORSHEAD beat Jamie Orr and the final frame also went to the home side when DAN WALKER won his second frame by beating Chris Downing.
So top of the table the PLENTY team went after this win now how long can they stay there for?
The CURZON has gone bottom after this defeat but still, a long way yot go yet.

CAVERSHAM FOXES—6-4--REAL ALBION
FIRST POINTS OF THE SEASON
WEBB Put the FOXES in front when he beat Shane Richens and then HENRY HARING doubled their lead with a win over the ALBION'S captain Javeid Sharif But LANZO LEWIS pulled a frame back for the away team when he beat Lisa Pigden but the FOXES won the final two frames of the first half when STUART CANNON beat the Albion-s New Player Aaron Dune and then MARYN WICKS won the final frame of the first half when he beat Steve Smith.

A very good start for the FOXES but could they go on and take all three points without Ricky Denton ??

SIMON WEBB made it two wins for him on the night when he beat Lanzo Lewis to earn his side a point and then STEVE SMITH pulled off a shock win against Henry Harding for the Albion and then Aaron Dune made up for his debut defeat by beating the FOXES captain Richard Biles. Then the Albion team was within one frame of the home side when SHANE RICHENS beat Stuart Cannon to set up a good final frame. Could the Albion complete a very good come back and leave with a point? Unfortunately for them, it wasn't to be as MARTYN WICKS beat Javeid sharif to claim all three points for the FOXES.

The FOXES started strong in this match and just as well they did as they seem to fall apart in the second half but it was a good win for them and they are now of the mark.
A good comeback from five one down for the ALBION but just not good enough to take a point. Two games have gone and they still have no points. It just goes to show how high the standard is in division-one now.

SUN INN VS FOXES
ALBION VS O'CO

PREDICTION – DRAW - WRONG

KVC O’OC—4-6--SUN INN
BIG WIN / BIG DEFEAT

So the two Winter cup finalist meet again. The SUN INN pulled off what was said a big shock win in the cup final could the O'CO team get their revenge.
The cup holders captain DARREN MUNN got his team off to a winning start when he beat Shaun Eaton but ALEC DOYLE pulled level with a win over Nick potten but the away side went straight back in from when MARK KENNEDY beat Dean Rogers and the match was all level again at two frames apiece when ANDY JOHNSON beat Dan Faulder and the final frame of the first half went o the home sides captain NOEL O'REILLY when he beat Tim Campbell to put his side in front for the first time.

Now the O'CO team had their noses in front would they push on and claim three points.

The SUN'S new signing IFY AHMED marked his debut with a win over Shaun Eaton to level the match up and the away sides captain DARREN MUNN won his second frame to out his side back in front when he beat Dean Rogers.  The match was all level for the third time when ALEC DOYLE won his second frame by beating Tim Campbell. But the SUN made sure they weren't going to leave with no points as DAN FAULDER got his revenge over Andy Johnson to make the score five frames to four. Big frame for the home side now to prevent a big defeat.  But all three points was going to the winter cupholders when MARK KENNEDY beat the home side captain Noel O'Reilly.

So once again the O'CO team loses to the SUN team and after a very good win against the FOXES last week i would have thought their confidence would have been high going into this match.
Well they all said it.. The SUN Cup win against the O'CO last winter was a shock. A one of maybe fluke but now they have proven them all wrong and the division-two champions came back fighting after being so disappointed not to even claim a point against the champions last week. On this form, this is a team to watch out for in this league. They may only have three points from two matches but with the performances, they have put in both matches they are going to be tough opponents for anyone.

BLACK HORSE—5-5—TURKS
FIRST POINTS FOR THE BLACK HORSE

The TURKS got off to a good start when DEMETRIS MARKOULLIS beat Ciaran Morris and then JEFF BRETT doubled their lead with a win over Marcus Jones but the home team got off the mark when LEE TUCKER beat Jason Walls but the away side went back into a two-frame lead when MICHAEL TATHAM beat Ben Mills and the final frame of the first half was won by the home team’s captain SEAN CLARKE When he beat Helenne Nyamwaro.

So the TURKS just in front by the odd frame this match was anyone's.

DEMETRIS MARKOULLIS won his second frame to put the TURKS back into a two-frame lead when he beat Mark Brown but MARCUS JONES made up for his first-half defeat when he beat Jeff Brett and then LEE TUCKER won bis second frame to level the match up at four frames apiece when he beat Michael Tatham. nd for the first tie in the match the home side went in front when CIARAN MORRIS beat Helenne Nyamwaro.  So all down to the final frame to see if the black horse could claim their first win of the season or could the Turks leave with a point. The 2018 summer open singles champion and the TURKS captain GRAHAM NEALE won the final frame to earn his side a point when he beat the home sides captain Sean Clarke.

So the points were shared but it's the first point of the season for both teams. The BLACK HORSE may be a little disappointed being just a frame away from winning three points.
The TURKS started the match really well but had to win the final frame to earn a point.

Now the PALMER was kin the lead for the first time could they go on and take all three points ?

STUART PRATT put the Palmer into a two-frame lead by beating Bobby lally and then DARREN CROSS earn his side a point by beating Josh Taylor and all three points were wrapped up for the away side when their captain SHANE GAVIN beat Jason kelly. But the LEGS Did pull a frame back when CAIN RANDALL beat Andrew Dewsbury but the final frame of the match was won by ANTONY FLATMAN when he beat Brian Martin.

So a second defeat for the LEGS team and the lie bottom of the table but still a long way to go yet.
A good win for the PALMER team and it took them top of the table with a maximum of six points.

MILESTONE CLUB—5-5--BELL & BOTTLE
FIRST POINT OF THE SEASON

MICHAEL SLEET put the home side in front when he beat Kevin Pinner but the match was soon level when ERIC RODEN beat Heath Messer. The home team went straight back into the lead when KEITH SCHROEDER Beat Martin Yaxley and they opened up a two-frame lead when their captain PHIL MARKHAM beat Pete Titus and the home team finished the first half strong when DAI EVENS beat Stan Yaxley.

So leading four frames to one at the midway point the Milestone was on their way to claiming all three points. Or so it looks.

PETE TITUS made up for his first-half defeat to beat Michael Sleet and then KEVIN PINNER also made up for his earlier defeat by beating Heath Messer to put the away side within a frame of the home team. But KEITH SCHROEDER secured a point for the MILESTONE team when he won his second frame of the evening by beating Eric Roden. So now the BELLS  had to win the final two frames to leave with a point. The MILESTONE just needed one more frame for their first win in our winter league. STAN YAXLEY managed to beat the home sides captain Phil Markham to set up a big final frame. And it was a case of what my dad can do i can do just as well and MARTIN YAXLEY won the final frame to claim a point for the BELLS when he beat Dai Evans.

So the MILESTONE will be a little disappointed not to finish the match off after leading five frames to three. But it's their first point and i am sure they will a lot more throughout the season.
Well done the BELLS managing to win the final two frames to leave with a point which keeps them third in the table

PALMER BATS—3-7--PALMER TAVERN-B
PALMER VS PALMER

The Division-Three champions got off to a very good start when KYRAN O'NEILL beat Steve Orchard and then their captain GEORGE DODD doubled their lead when he beat the BATS captain Chris Hood and then ALAN HOWARD made it three frames to nil by beating Phil Nixon. Good start but the BATS stopped the B teams winning run when MATT SHORT beat Caitlin James. But the B team restored their three frames advantage when JAMES RUSSELL beat Steve Moss to win the final frame of the first half.

So a lot for the BATS team to do in the second half.

The B team had a point in the bag when GEORGE DODD won his second frame by beating James Walker but again MATT SHORT stop the B team from going on another winning run when he beat Richard Williams. And then STEVE MOSS made up for his first-half defeat by beating Alan Howard. But there was to be no comeback for the BATS team as KYRAN O'NEILL did the double over Steve Orchard to secure all three points and even the final frame went to the B team when JAMES RUSSELL won his second frame by beating Chris Hood.

Of course, both teams were playing at home but it was a bad defeat for the BATS team which puts them fourth in the table.

CLIFTON ARMS—8-2--BULL & CHEQUERS
THAT'S WHAT WE CAN DO WITH A FULL TEAM

The CLIFTON Only could field out three players last week and lost eight frames to two what could they do with a full team.  A welcome back to the side for the CLIFTON captain CHRIS PAYNE as he put his side in front when he beat Ryan Inglis and then DOMINIC PAWSON doubled their lead with a win over Brian Cleves and DAVID MORTIMER made it three frames to nil by beating Richard Cleves. And the fourth frame went to the home side when RADU DUSCIAC beat Nick Mcdonald. And the final frame went to CHRIS YOUNG when he beat Johnny Burne to secure a point.

Well, what a great start for the home side already having a point in the bag at the midway point.

The home sides captain CHRIS PAYNE made it two wins on the night when he beat Warren Bridgewater to claim all three points for his. And then finally the B&C recorded a winning frame when RYAN INGLIS beat Dominic Pawson and young OLIVER KNIGHT made it two wins in a row for his team by beating David Mortimer. But the CLIFTON wins wasn't finished yet as RADU DUSCIAC beat the away sides captain Gavin Knight and the final frame also went to the home side when CHRIS YOUNG won his second frame by beating Nick Mcdonald.

So that's what the CLIFTON can do with a full team. Maybe the TRBL team was lucky last week that they could only field out three players, What a great win for them and it lifted them from last up to third in the table.

ROYAL ALBION-B—4-6--ARBORFIELD LEGION
WIN NUMBER TWO

The away team started well going two-nil up when ROSS MCKERNAN beat Wesley Petterson and then JAKE MCKERNAN doubled their lead with a win over Robert Brooker. But the home sides captain LEE WATKISS got a winning frame on the card when he beat Jack Woodward but WILL HOQUE restored the away sides two-frame lead when he beat the ALBION'S new signing Chris Rowe and DOMINIC MCKERNAN won the final frame of the first half for the away team when he beat Martin Beenham.

Losing four frames to one the ALBION team needed a big comeback in the second half.

WESLEY PETERSON made up for his first-half defeat by getting his revenge over Ross Mckernan and then ROBERT BROOKER also got his revenge over Jake Mckernan to put the home side within one frame of the ARBL team. The Home sides captain LEE WATKISS won his second frame to level the match up at four frames apiece by beating Dominic Mckernan. So a good comeback from the ALBION team but now could they go on and win the match. WILL HOQUE secured a point for the away team as he beat Matin Beenham and the three points were to go to the ARBL team when their captain BARNEY MCKERNAN beat Mark Maclean.
It was the ALBION'S first match of the season and not the best way to start. They did well to get back in the match after losing four frames to one but after levelling at four frames apiece they will be very disappointed not to even get a point.

A very good win for the ARBL team but they did have a little scare when the ALBION came back at them. But they manage to win the final two frames to earn another three points to go second in the table.

So a good comeback from the home side after being two frames to nil down but they were just leading by the odd frame at the midway stage.

The match was all level once again when JOHN EVANS won his second frame by beating Jack Robson. And then the GOODIES went back in front when JOHN GREENOUGH made up for his first-half defeat by beating Damien Kink and the GOODIES secured a point when DAYRL NORRIS won his second frame by beating Paul Sheeran. So from three frames to two down the GOODIES went onto win three frames in a row to lead five frames to three what can the home side do abut that. So it was all down to the final frame to see if the home team could claim a point or would all three points go the division-four champions. But the match was all level once again when GEORGE DANCE beat Steven Brooker. And the final frame was won by the away side when OLLY COPLAND put them back in front by beating Richard Soane.

So a first half which the match swung one team way and then the other way. This match was anyone's.

The SPORTSMAN went into a two-frame lead when CHRIS CANNON beat John Goodwin. And a point was in the bag for the away team when OLLY COPLAND won his second frame by beating Andy Garrett. So the home team now needed to win the last three frames to secure a point. JAMES MAXWELL won his second frame by beating George Dance to give his side a chance of a comeback. KEVIN JEROME also won his second frame of the match when he beat Chris Andrews to set up a very interesting final frame. STEVEN BROOKER made up for his first-half defeat to beat Callum Plowman to share the points.

A good comeback in the end from the SPREAD-B team to earn a point to put them third in the table.

FIRST POINTS FOR THE NEW TEAM

ETHAN REEVES put the home side in front when he beat Wayne Clark and then STEPHEN FOSTER doubled their lead when he beat the CROWNS captain Peter Clark. But after going behind by two frames the new team came back well when JOSHUA MILLZEO Beat the home sides captain Clarissa Staskiw and then PAUL BETTS levelled the match at two frames apiece when he beat Aaron Higgins and the final frame of the first half also went to the away team when GARY AUSTIN beat the two times ladies summer open singles champion, Kate Reeves.

So from leading two frames to nil the BADDIES side found themselves three frames to two down going into the second half. What could they do about it? Could the CROWN carry on their good comeback?

WAYNE CLARK made up for his first-half defeat to beat Adam Garrett but STEPHEN FOSTER won his second frame for the home side when he beat Gary Austin and the match was once again level when the BADDIES captain CLARISSA STASKIW beat the away sides captain Peter Clark to make the score four frames apiece. Now the match was in the balance and up for grabs for either team. The New team secured their first point when JOSHUA MILLZEO won his second frame by beating Kate Reeves. So now down to the final frame to see if the home side could save a crucial point. But it was to be as PAUL BETTS also won his second frame of the evening when he beat Etah Reeves.

The BADDIES maybe a little disappointed not to earn any points from this match after leading two frames to nil and then pulling back from four frames to two down only to lose the final two frames. But I am sure they will bounce back from this defeat.

PALMER TAVERN-C—4-6—CHEQUERS
AT LONG LAST. POINTS
The CHEQUERS Got off to a good start when GRANT MCGILL beat Tom Jane and then KEVIN CURTIS doubled their lead when he beat the PALMER-C team's captain Jamie Cunliffe. But RITCHIE QURESHI put a winning frame on the card for the home side when he beat Andrew Bowles. But the away team went back to winning ways when ANDY BURCHALL beat Taz Awan and then the CHEQUERS new signing ANTONY MARSON won this final frame of the first half when he beat Robyn Sas.

So the CHEQUERS was leading four frames to one at the midway point and all they needed was one more winning frame to earn the first point.

The didn't have to wait too long as ANDY BURCHALL won his second frame to earn his side a point when he beat Richie Qureshi. So now it was a point of no return for the home side they had to win the last four remaking frames to earn a point.  TOM JANE kept the home sides hopes of claiming a point when he beat Kevin Curtis and then TAX AWAN Beat Andrew Bowles to make the score five frames to three. And when DANIELLE HANCOCK beat Grant Mcgill to put the PALMER-C within one frame of the away side it made the final frame really interesting. And it was a battle between the two captains to see if the home side could save a point or would the away side claim their first three points. Well done to RACHEL GALBRAITH to beat Jamie Cunliffe to claim all three points for her side.

After a good start last week the PALMER-C team couldn't make it back to back wins and they just missed out on a point as well.  But i think this division is so tight this is how it will be throughout the season. All the teams just taking points of each other.
So after not winning a point in the summer group. And not winning a point in the Friendly League and losing last week the CHEQUERS finally have claimed three points. A well-done team you deserve it after so many knockbacks. Maybe this is the start of a good winning run, Who knows?

The home sides captain ADAM WILLIAMS put his side in front when he beat Dave Barrett but ALAN COOK levelled when he beat Brian Hall. But the SUN-B team went straight back in front when MARTIN WILLIAMS beat Ricky Straw and then the SUN'S new signing and former BELL & BOTTLE player PAUL HART marked his debut with a win over the away sides captain Daren Wood. And the final frame of the first half was won by PAUL VISSER when he beat Jason Hart for the home side.

The SUN got a good lead at the midway stage leading four frames to one.

PAUL HART finished his debut with a second win to earn his new side a point when he beat Alan Cook but the CLIFTON-B team pulled another frame back when DAVE BARRETT beat Brian Hall. But it wasn't any start of any comeback as PAUL VISSER won his second frame to secure all three points for his team when he beat Ricky Straw.  Losing six frames to two all the away side could do now is to make the score look a little respectable and of course, frames difference could make a big difference come to the end of the season. There was the battle between the two captains in the ninth frame with The aways sides captain DAREN WOOD coming out on top against Adam Williams and the final frame also went to the away side when JASON HART beat Martin Williams.

So another good win for the SUN-B team and they are now top of the table. How long can they stay there?

5-NEXT SATURDAY TOURNAMENT
The Next Saturday Tournament will be played on the 10th of November and the Semi-finals & Finals will be played at the ROYAL ALBION PUB. Also, we are thinking of having the 2018 summer presentation at the ALBION that evening just before the semi-finals start.
6-UNDERAGE PUBS LIMITS
It both teams can't agree with the time of a match where there is an underage player then a neutral venue will be brought in. And if both teams can't agree on a neutral venue then the league will step in and choose a venue. The home team will still act as the home team tho.
7-POOL TABLES
Please do try and keep your venues pool table as level and clean as you can. If a table is really unlevel and unsuitable please do let the league know and we will see what we can do.
